Solidarity to our colleagues in Italy and the rest of the world

We, the Workers in Hotels and Tourism in Athens, express our solidarity with our colleagues in Italy and the rest of the world, because, except from having to face difficult situations in terms of protecting themselves and their families from the coronavirus epidemic, they also have to face the attack of the capital. Workers in Greece, and especially those of us that work in Hotels and Tourism, are also facing the same attack.

On the pretext of the epidemic, capital and government are trying to abolish our rights and at the same time they are asking for our consent. Our union, here in Athens, fights daily in the workplaces for the employees to be given full-time paid leave to protect themselves and their families. We will not accept lay offs and changes to the working conditions for the benefit of the employers.

For the people, the fight for stable, permanent work and access for all to free and public health care system is a fair struggle for our modern needs and united we will win .

We will continue to fight for the health and lives of workers.
